Montgomery County BOE Voted to Join JUUL Lawsuit Posted On: Thursday, January 23, 2020 Tuesday evening (1/21/20) the Montgomery County Board of Education approved a resolution and voted to join in the fight against JUUL and other e-cigarette manufacturers because of their continued targeting of children, the public health danger this poses for our children, and the time and expense the district has had to put forth in combatting this growing issue. Montgomery County has joined with other school districts in filing lawsuits against those who target our most vulnerable and precious population, our kids. It is important to note that this lawsuit comes at no cost to taxpayers and that no district funds will be allocated for legal fees. Read the full press release. MCS Partnering with U.S. Census Bureau Posted On: Thursday, January 23, 2020 We are excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the U.S. Census Bureau to support the 2020 Census! As a partner, we’ll be working to ensure that our community is accurately represented. Full participation will ensure that school funding is protected. The census counts every person living in the United States once, only once, and in the right place. Census data is used to help determine how to distribute more than $675 billion in federal funds each year for schools, hospitals, roads, public works, and other vital programs. For the first time, in 2020 the U.S. Census Bureau will accept responses online. The process will be quick and secure. You can respond to the census in less time than it takes to finish your morning coffee. You’ll still be able to respond by mail. Read more on what to expect. Preschool Registration Posted On: Friday, January 17, 2020 Did you know that our preschool program enrolls students year-round? All children must be screened to begin the eligibility process. This will include hearing, vision, and developmental screenings. Screenings take place at registration and will last approximately one hour.
